Q. My friend is unable to get the Community Network Confirmation Link to Work. How can I help?
A. One possibility is that the friend is using an older version of his or her Web browser. We have found that the invitation link will not work on versions of Netscape earlier than 4.79. These old browsers may be freezing when the Community Network tries to write the login key cookie. Suggest that your friend upgrade her browser, or try to get on using Internet Explorer. It is always best to use the most up-to-date browser your operating system can handle. If your friend is using Windows 98, this might not be the latest, but there ARE versions 4.79 and higher available at the Netscape Web site.
Another possibility would be that the friend's browser is not set to accept cookies. This setting is usually found in the Security setting under the Preferences section of any Web browser. Ask the friend to set his or her browser to allow cookies from your community (this is the only way the Community Network can make sure you are who you say you are and keep track of your info). This should enable the friend to sign in.
